C.A.R.E.S. (Counseling, Advocacy, Restorative Justice, Education, & Support) is a Hinda Institute program designed to support families impacted by the criminal justice system.

Incarceration affects more than just the individual—it deeply challenges the surrounding family. Our group offers a non-judgmental space to share openly, provide mutual encouragement, and offer essential information and education for those newly encountering the system.

We understand the difficulty families face in discussing these issues—especially when customized support is scarce. Many of our families also navigate complex realities involving adult children with addiction or mental health challenges, compounding the stress with concerns over housing, finances, and emotional well-being.

Through dialogue, compassion, and connection, we help one another carry these burdens and build resilience together.
