As we enter into the Teshuva season, it is important to remember that our Torah tradition teaches us that people should have a chance to rehabilitate themselves and rectify past mistakes. lt is especially important not to "throw a stone after the fallen' (see Kiddushin 20b) and thus to enable incarcerated individuals and their families to recover from their challenges in order to lead normal, productive lives- Rabbi and Rebbetzin Scheiman, through the Hinda lnstitute, are engaged in vital and sacred work for the sake of Heaven."
