The Hinda Institute responded to the Illinois housing crisis by expanding partnerships and resources to ensure no one reenters society without a safe place to land.
Our proactive approach included:

Emergency housing training for all caseworkers

Ongoing development of our reentry resource database

Maintaining a safe house apartment for emergency client needs
In 2024, our impact in numbers:

Secured housing for over 95 clients—including 43 placed in transitional, sober living, or independent housing, and connected to emergency rental assistance programs

Linked 21 clients to the Statewide Referral Network (SRN)

Provided eviction prevention support to 12 clients
- Offered rental assistance to 3 clients in critical need
