The Hinda Institute responded to the Illinois housing crisis by expanding partnerships and resources to ensure no one reenters society without a safe place to land.

Our proactive approach included:

  • Emergency housing training for all caseworkers

  • Ongoing development of our reentry resource database

  • Participation in HUD and subsidized housing databases

  • Maintaining a safe house apartment for emergency client needs

In 2024, our impact in numbers:

  • Secured housing for over 95 clients—including 43 placed in transitional, sober living, or independent housing, and connected to emergency rental assistance programs

  • Linked 21 clients to the Statewide Referral Network (SRN)

  • Provided eviction prevention support to 12 clients

  • Offered rental assistance to 3 clients in critical need

We continue to stand on the front lines in the fight against homelessness—with compassion, strategy, and unwavering commitment.
