The Facilitator
Devin Berzon graduated summa cum laude from DePaul University in June 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, majoring in Criminology and minoring in Psychology. A dedicated and high-achieving student, Devin earned a 3.92 GPA, was consistently named to the Dean’s List, and received DePaul’s prestigious Presidential Scholarship. Devin also placed second in the 2024 INVC Case Study Competition and was an active participant in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program at Stateville Correctional Center.
Through academic studies and personal experience—particularly time spent engaging with incarcerated individuals at Stateville—Devin developed a strong commitment to prison reform and education equity. Devin's focus lies in bridging the technological divide for justice-impacted individuals, recognizing that for many, reentering a tech-driven society after incarceration can be overwhelming. Drawing on both criminological knowledge and lived experience, Devin approaches tech education with empathy and patience—what Devin calls “the big E”—to foster dignity and understanding in digital learning spaces.
In addition to academic accomplishments, Devin successfully submitted an Illinois Humanities grant and has been involved in leadership initiatives including an event hosted by the Illinois Holocaust Museum during high school.
Devin’s career goals include working in prison reform, policy advocacy, and expanding access to technology and education for incarcerated and formerly incarcerated individuals.
