The Facilitators

Rabbi Dov Stein is an experienced educator, spiritual care provider, and director of the Wellsprings Recovery Community, where he oversees systems that support long-term recovery and community integration.

With a deep commitment to helping others and fostering resilience, he utilizes his background as a Mindfulness meditation instructor to empower participants with practical techniques for managing anxiety and depression.

Dov holds an MBA from Rutgers University, has completed Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) training, and he brings decades of experience leading educational programs and facilitating growth in challenging environments, making him uniquely equipped to guide participants in developing self-awareness, purpose, and grit.

Etan J. Anthony is a seasoned project manager and strategic consultant with a distinguished career rooted in high-stakes leadership and cross-cultural diplomacy. A graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, Etan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies with a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies, establishing a foundation in academic excellence and global perspective.

His professional journey is defined by his service as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, where he led teams ranging from elite 10-man units to organizations of 250 personnel. From conducting counter-terrorism missions in Afghanistan and Iraq to managing millions of dollars in critical assets, Etan’s military experience instilled in him the core tenets of grit, accountability, and mission-driven leadership. Beyond the battlefield, he served as a cultural liaison and coordinator, negotiating international reforms and fostering community relations, including volunteer efforts to support vulnerable populations.

Drawing from his lived experience of incarceration within the Virginia state prison system, Etan emerged as a de facto Jewish lay leader, providing spiritual guidance and fostering a sense of community for his peers in a challenging environment. This unique intersection of formal leadership training and personal resilience allows him to connect deeply with justice-impacted individuals.

As a co-facilitator for the Leadership & Survival workshop, Etan empowers participants to reclaim their narratives and develop the practical "survival" tools—such as identity mapping and resilience strategies—needed to lead lives of purpose and integrity after incarceration.
