Rahmiel Drizin,  JD.

 

Rahmiel Hayyim Drizin is a retired Assistant Cook County Public Defender who served for nearly thirty years, primarily focusing on appellate and post-conviction work. He completed his undergraduate studies at Pennsylvania State University (B.A., 1982), followed by a law degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 1985.

He currently serves as Head of the Hinda Institute’s Legal Advisory Committee, supporting the organization on legal matters. He volunteers by visiting clients detained in Cook County Jail, offering hope and comfort while helping them establish legal connections. He also assists clients and families navigating reentry.

Rahmiel Hayyim is endlessly compassionate and deeply committed to the ideals of the Hinda Institute: "100% Acceptance, 0% Recidivism." He is an immeasurable asset and a true gift to the organization.

He states, “I spent my career dutifully serving the public of Cook County and now desire to give back to our people—the Jewish population of Illinois—who require legal guidance. It is my privilege to help Hinda Institute clients and their families return to a normal life.”
